Lake Powell in Octoburrrrr!

We left for Lake Powell early Saturday October 11th morning. When we arrived there was a lot of wind and we had to sleep on the slip for the night. What a long day keeping kids in a houseboat. We played games and started the eating frenzy. We always come back pounds heavier. This is our fourth year going down on a houseboat with Lyle and Ashley Labrum and relatives of Ashley. Renn's buddy, Lyle, from Roosevelt married Ashley from South Jordan. We go with the Kevin Kemp family and Miller group. We have so much fun every year. We always look forward to it. Now we have a time share and this will go on for years to come!

Alex took this picture for the Reflections contest this year. She got an honorable mention!

We are finally out on the water looking for a campground. Adri was diagnosed with ADD right before our trip. We researched it and tried some meds. She was knocked out. I don't think this is the way to go. Adri doesn't normally act like this, but it was a cute picture of her and Renn.

Renn and Kaden were the first off the slide on the back of the house boat when we arrived to our camping spot. Alex and Abby followed. The looks on their faces say BURRRR! Adri and I were the only smart ones.

Preston took Abby lizard hunting with his b b gun. Here are some of those lizards. They have a lot of fun together. They are both 8 years old. He has always helped her fish too!

We dared Jordy boy to eat a lizard. Instead he put it in his mouth and then took it out. What a gross boy! We had extra room on the houseboat this year and so my brother Jordan and his cute family came with us! He is married to a movie star!

Abby and Preston are taking the walk of death. They are climbing up a very steep rock to JUMP! Let's see if they dare.

Abby went last! Preston and Alex and waiting in the water for her. It took Abby a long time to go. Jenny, Preston's mom, was helping talk Abby into it up on the rock. Kevin is down lower fishing. Kevin is our fisherman. He catches tons of fish every year and then one night we have fish tacos. That's my favorite night. He is quite the CHEF! He has to come every year because no one else can catch fish, gut them and cook them.

As soon as we arrived to the beach the kids were off and playing in the sand. This kept them busy while we set up camp. There is Kaden, Alex, Abby, Brayden and Palmer.

Kaden and Alex making a sand castle or at least attempting too.

Jordy Boy, Heather, Brayden and Corbyn. They had the youngest kids there. Thank goodness for good boys and lots of naps. It was so much fun with the Robison family.

The Miller sisters Jenny and Ashley. Ashley is pregnant with a boy. That is why she looks like a beached whale. J/K. Palmer, Adri and Katie and bundling after playing in the water.

My baby all bundled up. He is so cute. He is always high maintenance in Lake Powell.

What a cute couple. We were not ready to shed our layers and go in the water yet!

Corbyn all set for an afternoon on the boat. Binki, life jacket and sunglasses!

The boat lulls the little ones to sleep. I think Kaden had thrown a fit over something and laid on the boat floor and fell asleep. He is so cute when he is sleeping.

Now Brayden is asleep and Heather might be catching some rest also!

Often they kids fight over the flag. And then other times no one will hold it! Isn't that crazy how that goes. Kaydee is 5 and in kindergarten. Adri is 6 and in kindergarten. They played and had a ton of girl fun!
What a mean dad! We were rolling in the boat because this was so funny. Brayden was all set to do it and then it wasn't that much fun. The water could have been warmer but we all jumped in at one time or another.
Who is that hot chic out there wakeboarding. It's me. I finally talked myself into getting in the water. It wasn't so bad once I jumped in. The scenery was beautiful around me. I really enjoy being behind the boat listening to the music and pulling funny faces at everyone.

Kaden and Preston were all bundled up for the long ride from the dock to the camp area. Kaden was just told that he has to wear patches. He has ambliopia and one eye is stronger than the other. He does not like wearing the patch, but we try whenever he is distracted. I hope this helps my little man.
Preston and Alex were heading out to wakeboard, kneeboard and take a bath. Renn was driving and Kaden and Abby joined the crew. Kaden loves to be in the boat with his dad. I love him there too.
Renn is the designated driver. He bought this boat last year. Last year he went a million times. This year we have not gone as much because GAS PRICES are insane! Renn has always wanted a boat and his dream came true. Sometimes he gets to go in the water and somebody else drives.

I tried fishing and I never caught a darn thing. Oh well somebody else will share.

Alex, Abby, Kaden, Renn and Adri. They all had to take turns fishing. I couldn't help out much with the rods and so I just laid out and took pictures. They each caught a fish. Renn is so lucky that he is popular.
Alex's face says it all. We made them hold the fish after they caught them. They girls caught small mouth off the back of the boat.

Abby was really excited to hold the fish. It took a little coaxing to get them to hold it.

Renn had to hold Adri's because she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Cute smile!
I can't ever choose which pictures to leave out so my posts are going to be long. We can't wait for Lake Powell next June and October. We get to go twice on the houseboat to get fat, play games like dominoes, go fish, and yes the DS, swim, fish, hike, make sand castles, hunt lizards, be lazy and make long lasting memories. Thanks to Lake Powell and Chloe's DS my kids all want one for Christmas.!
