Dance Recital 2011


I love watching Alex dance. The night of her dance recital, she danced 8 times. How do they remember which costume to put on and which dance to dance. They only dance their ballet routines at Christmas and Spring Recital. She was on pointe this year and looked awesome. The dance was not your ordinary ballet dance, nor the costumes. It was amazing and at least 10 minutes long. There was fog and that created the mood. I wish I could have watched it a few more times!!
Alex performed two hip hop dances, ballet, lyrical, 2 jazz, group ensemble, and helped with a little kid dance. She makes awesome facials and shines on stage. She loves it so much. I'm happy she is happy. My favorite dance of the year was BIG SUNGLASSES. That's the pic in the upper left corner. It won at all the competitions and was so amazing to watch. Your getting old Alex and it makes me sad!!
This is Abby's year back at AED. She had a great year and made new little dance friends. She danced 7 times at her recital. She danced ballet, tumbling, group ensemble, jazz, 2 hip hops, and lyrical. One of the hip hop numbers Alex and Abby danced together. That was fun to watch them in the same number. Abby is a busy body and dance is soooo good for her. She needs that in her life. Abby is more comfortable with the fast fun dances than the serious ones. She does awesome either way.

Abby's ballet was more your typical ballet. She had a beautiful costume and looked beautiful on stage. I love love love watching the older kids dance ballet. It's so amazing and beautiful!!! Great job Abbigail.

Kaden and Adri had had it. The recital was five hours long, NO LIE!! My girls danced so often that we didn't get big breaks to leave and come back. They ran around Cottonwood High School instead to burn some energy. I packed snacks, sticker books, and DS games. Renn often played the DS. He can sit very long.

DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA. This is what happens every year lately. All the girls cry because they love each other so much and might not be on the same team next year. Renn thinks it's so dumb. I guess I can understand where there emotions are coming from, but it's still kind of funny. Hehe. Alex was a mess!! We are waiting for the dance team packets any day. I hope we can handle the emotional side of this. Be strong Big Al! You will have fabulous friends no matter what team you are on.

Abby cried too this year. I can't help but laugh. It's so cute to see them love and care so much. Dad and Kade do not stick around for this part. The boys were out of there. They missed out because we stopped for shakes!!

I love you girls. You are so dedicated and work so hard every time you go to dance. I never get sick of watching them dance. It's a good thing because I have years ahead watching my BEAUTIFUL BALLERINAS! They just had dance tryouts for two days last week, summer classes started, dance camps next week and dance in NEW YORK June 20-25th. We can't wait.
