Grandpa and Grandma McBride Visit

G & G McBride came last weekend. They stayed Friday through Monday morning. It was a real treat to have them. Saturday we had to get the boat in the water to make sure it was ready for Powell in a few weeks. They came along with us. To their surprise, they really enjoyed it. It was in the upper 70's and a nice day. They loved watching the kids do their thing and Renn too.

Alex and Abby take turns trying to drive. They are learning.

Renn was the first one in. He is in his element. He loves surfing more than anything. Kade was next to follow. He loves surfing and boating just as much as his dad. He loves swimming in the water too. The water was COLD. It's not hot summer water yet and there is still run off. The other day I asked Kaden who his best friend was and he said "His dad." So cute. They do everything together. Kaden says that he spends lots of time with his dad so he knows just what he wanted for father's day. He picked out some gum, jerky, and other snacks at the store.

Adri was brave and followed Kaden. She didn't swim as much as usual, but she surfed and had fun. She is getting big and I'm not sure how much longer they can surf together.

Alex did her thing. She wakeboarded. Her face getting in the water the first time was really funny. She was in SHOCK.

Abby wakeboarded too. She almost backed out after she dipped her feet in the water. For some reason, Abby shoots to the side as soon as she gets up. We will work on it in Powell. I'm not sure she gets the toe heel thing and it frustrated her. I was happy she got in the water.

Thank goodness the sun was out. We had a fun time with G & G at the lake. They got to see our favorite past time.
G & G also got to see Kaden play a baseball game. He hit both times and had a good game. He hit a lot of foul balls this season. It was a nice night and fun to have company at a game. Kaden got his trophy and pictures at a ceremony that night also. G & G don't get to be a part of our lives very often so this was fun.

This week Kade played in the championships. He won one game and lost another. Renn was with Kaden at every game and practice. I missed a few here and there with other things. Kaden had a swim party at his coaches with a real water slide like at the water parks. Who owns one of those? They had a bbq and swam till late. Renn took the three younger kids and they had a great night. Baseball is over and it's kind of nice!

We ate a lot of good food, homemade food, homemade ice cream, barbecues(steak, chicken, hamburgers), apricot pork loin roast, waffles, french toast, salads, lemon cookies (two kinds). There were lots of dirty dishes and full stomachs. For some reason when company comes to town it's all about the food especially with the McBrides. Renn is a big help. He cooked and cleaned up a ton.

They went to church with us and Grandma McBride got to listen to me teach Relief Society. I taught on Obedience. My little take on it was Obedience is Delightful just like lemon cookies and summer. Rena told about her mission and how she was suppose to be in the Mission office and her mission was nothing like that. She was obedient!!! Obedience will get us to Heaven for sure and the end result is DELIGHTFUL.

Company is a lot of work, but worth it! Love ya G&G!
