CABIN FEVER

Jordy Boy owns a cleaning company out in Roosevelt and sometimes he does cleaning for Six Lakes. It's a cabin renting community with fishing, hiking, and fun. He traded the people cleaning for a couple nights at one of their beautiful cabins. Renn and the kids went to the cabin in February ice fishing. This was Alex and my first time to Six Lakes. It's in the middle of nowhere 30 minutes from Roosevelt. It's man made and beautiful.

The first night we had hamburgers, homemade fries and SMORES!!!! The homemade fries were addicting. The homemade fry sauce, by me, was addicting also. The smores were tasty too. At the cabin for the weekend was Renn's bro Randy's fam, my bro David, Dawn, and Alyssa, Jordy's fam and our little fam. Lots of cousins and lots of noise. I don't think David and Dawn are use to this much noise and kids. David and Dawn relaxed in the cabin most of the time. The only pic I have of them is in the cabin pic. They are on the deck waving. You have to look closely to know they are really there. The kids loved roasting marshmellows. It was jacket weather but beautiful.

The kids were up early, had a homemade french toast, sausage, hashbrown breakast and they were off fishing. The guys went out in the canoes. A couple of times you could hear Renn yelling, "HOLD STILL $*%&^^&$, you are going to make us tip over." It was just the D word. Nothing really bad. Abby would lean over to the other side and rock the boat. They are not use to this kind of boat. The kids got a lot of bites, but the fish were off with the bait and hook. How did the fish get so smart!!!

After morning fishing, we were off craw dad hunting. We went to another lake via the truck. The kids loved riding in the back of the truck. They saw three deer and thought that was the best. The craw dads did not come out in the other lake like supposedly thought, so we went back to our lake. The kids loved wading in the water. We should have brought swim suits. Look at the cute white legs.

At the other lake the kids found a couple baby craw dads. We had plumber problems, wet pant problems, and craw dads on hair and ears. That's Jordy's facial expression after the craw dad fell off of his ear. Brayden wasn't too sure about anyone helping pull his pants up, but his dad. So he waited for 5 minutes or so. Funny boy. It made for a cute pic.

Part of Saturday afternoon it rained. The kids didn't care. They fished rain or shine. They thought of ways to stay dry by putting the fishing and boating box lid on their head. They would come up for food and then go back down again. It was raining pretty hard at one point. After the rain passed, everyone headed back down for more fishing. Aunt Jenn caught the first and only fish. She sat on the end of the deck, threw some fish food in and waited for the fish to arrive. They did and she caught it with a net. She was so patient and quiet about it. The kids and Jenn were so excited. Rennie guted his first fish. He sure looked like he had guted a million before. He knew exactly what to do. I think he has watched a million times, but never did it himself.

Here is Renn gutting the fish and a pic of all of our craw dads. It was a fun and relaxing day. The kids were never bored. They loved every second of it.

Inside the cabin, we ate too much, rested, played lots of games and visited. David and Dawn went home Saturday afternoon. It was fun to visit and chat with them. They were cabin dwellers while the rest of the people were outside dwellers. Jordan cooked up the craw dads and him and I ate them. No one else dared. They tasted like lobster. Not bad for lake food. Everyone watched us and they were chickens. Us Robisons will eat anything pretty much. Renn cooked up the trout and Jordan and I ate that also. Renn took one bite and was done. What a bunch of babies. My kids loved mothering Heather's and Dawn's babies and being crazy with the cousins. They little boys were crazy downstairs wrestling, jumping, hoarsing around the whole time. It was a fun and nice getaway. It was fun to have Renn's bro and his family there also. Thanks Jordy and Heather. It's always a good time with you guys. Easy, no walking on egg shells and enjoyable. Love ya.

Sunday morning we headed into Roosevelt for church and a McBride family dinner. We toured Roxy's villa and visited Renn's siblings. Roxy's villa is over 7000 sq. ft. and 7 bathrooms. It's so beautiful. They have done most of the work themselves and it's amazing. The kids loved the picnic at the park. The food was awesome and so was the company. We don't make it out to Roosevelt very often these days with Renn's parents gone. The houses out there are filled to capacity and we hate to impose. In March the McBrides will be home, and maybe we will come out more often. Everyone was at the family dinner, but Rennette's family.
I love family get togethers with cousins. Those are the best memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
