3 Girls and a Guy

BASS ATTACK

Warning Long Post

Oquirrh Mountain Temple. The Robisons headed out last Monday at 8 a.m. for an early morning tour. We are so lucky to have two temples within two miles of our home. I guess we need to go more often. Jay was leaving for North Carolina, thus the early tour. It was not crowded and peaceful. The temple is beautiful. No better people to go through the temple with than my own family!!!!! Then it was home and off to Daybreak Lake.

DAYBREAK LAKE

Lake in our backyard. We've been there on Sundays, but the kids could only get their toes wet. They played on the playground and in the water for hours. We all got a little sun.

The little ones we had to watch closely because there is a dropoff in the Lake. All the sudden Brayden was bobbing in the water and Aunt Alli had to rescue him fully clothed. He has no fear. Next time we will take floaties or life jackets. The kids loved the sand. This is Emma buried.

Kaden and Jay are becoming such good buds. Before they would play here or there, but didn't care if they were playing with any one. Now they seem to have fun together. They also looked like twinners. We took lunches and just hung out for the day.

NELSON FAMILY REUNION

That same Monday night we had a Nelson Family reunion in a secluded South Jordan Park. My mom planned it for when Alli was here so she could see all the cousins. Many Nelsons made it and it was so enjoyable. Everyone brought their own picnics and just sat around and talked. I love my cousins and miss seeing them more often. Adri found her best friend, my cousin Michelle. Adri loves to talk to her and Michelle laughs and laughs. The little 2nd cousins made a birds nest in the play ground. Brittyn, Leah, and Emma are in this picture.

On the left is Aunt Sandy, Bonnie, Uncle Bobby, Ryker, Gma Nelson, Gpa Nelson, Uncle Brent and Elizabeth. Aunt Sandy hit her head really hard and had to leave early. She looked like she was going to pass out. Cousin Michelle did impersonations of her mom, Aunt Sandy, and we laughed so hard. She is way funny. On the right is David, Julie, Uncle Vern, Jill MY COUSIN, Alli, Brenna, Aunt Sherri, and Owen. This was the best family party. No stress.

Which set of pictures are twins. None. My sister Alli on the left and my favorite cousin and best friend Jill. She is so tall compared to me. We grew up playing together, dating together, working together and we love each other to death even though we don't see each other as often as we would like. Jill is working three jobs or more at a time. She is a crazy lady.

Quite the game of volleyball. Renn and Jordy were nice to entertain the thought. Jordan and Uncle Chuck got into it. They had fun wrestling around, spilling drinks and getting food smeared all over their clothes. Jordan doesn't care that he is over 50, it's someone to wrestle with. It was the most enjoyable evening. I hope we all get together sooner than later.

SWIMMING

Tuesday we went swimming to Murray Pool. We stayed for 4 hours. Talk about sun all day Monday and Tuesday. We need a sun break. The hot mamas were all invited, but only Tawni showed up with her friend Kim and sisters. Alli and I hung out and talked and Alli never quit eating. Kaden was exhausted and fell asleep in my arms. Poor guy is still healing and is exhausted everyday around 3 p.m. Brenna made Alli go up and down the slides until Alex rescued her.


Jay, Kaden and Brenna all played together. The boys could swim all over and go up and down the slide by themselves. It was so nice. Talk about freedom for me. One day we also went to West Jordan Pool. Renn and I took our kids, Emma and Lexi. The kids are all fishes and enjoy the water so much. Emma did say that it was boring and she wanted to leave at one point. She got over it and played for a long time.

TIE DYING SHIRTS


Wednesday was our sun break. We tie dyed shirts and played at Grammies. They played games, did crafts, ate, and had sleepovers. Aunt Alli was paranoid doing the shirts. I have done them for b-day parties, girls camp and now with the cousins. I don't stress. The kids had fun and the shirts turned out way cute.

Abby and Alex are pros and did their shirts by themselves. They helped with the other kids also.

Whenever we were at Grammies this week, the kids played and fought over the little cars. They had a ball out in Grammies front yard. It was always breezy and never felt too hot.

PAPA's B-DAY-HERITAGE PARK

Thursday, July 9th was PAPA's BIRTHDAY. He invited us to Heritage Park with him and Grammie. Alli and I were the only ones that could make it. Everyone else had to work. The cousins had so much fun. I thought it would be too hot and boring, but it's an enjoyable day. The kids each got to do three crafts. They also watered a garden, did some laundry, and cleaned rugs the old fashioned way.

Kaden was onery most of the day. It's day 7-10 and he is not feeling well. It was hard with Kaden, but an enjoyable day nonetheless. He had to go on the train and so we went for a ride early. The train was free and we got to ride it a couple of times.

Kaden and Jay got shaved and then the girls volunteered. The people there really know a lot about pioneer time and would teach us many things while they shaved. Alex and Abby loved getting their faces shaved also. The guy said it's the first time ladies wanted to be shaved. He told us that the barber shop was used for pulling teeth and medical things also. The barber pole had red, white, and blue swirled through it. The red was for the blood, the blue was for the veins, and the white was for the bandage. We learned something new.

Kaden had fun in the leather store and pounded some designs in to a leather piece. They all had fun making candles and dipping them into wax and then water. They did this at the tithing house. They gave 10% and it wasn't money usually. It was goods.

Kaden and I went up to the Teepees for the Apaches and the other huts for the Navajo indians. He made an arrowhead necklace. The indian taught us that the Navajos doing everthing clockwise because the sun is clockwise and they worship the sun amongs other gods. They walk into huts, around huts and even build huts clockwise. TOo much to think about.

The girls went and made rag dolls at on of the pioneer houses. We then took a train ride down to Brigham Youngs house. Some or one of his wives would live there. He never lived there, just visited. It was a beautiful house. Some of the houses there were like cabins. They had one room and it would consist of the beds and kitchen. I think I would like Brigham Youngs house.

Our last venture was the pony rides. It was 1 p.m. and we had been there since 9 a.m. There is so much to do and see. We thought we would only be there a couple of hours. We didn't bring lunch and the kids were getting onery and hot.

Alex and Abby. They also had a petting farm next to the ponies. The kids loved petting the little goats, bunnies, ponies, and lambs. It was a fun day and Papa was nice to share his b-day with us. He got to endure crazy and onery moments. I'm sure a peaceful day would have been more his style. We went to Papa's later that night for Pie and Party. Then Papa was off to the Stake House to do what he loves most-CHURCH WORK. We love you Papa. You are a great example to all of us. David and Dawn also announced they were pregers. We are all so excited. David might have a kid of his own afterall.

THE LAST DAY

The Bass family went to Roosevelt to visit Jordy boy Friday. We cleaned house, ran errands and regrouped. That night we went to Grammies for our last visit. The girls did glitter nails, played monopoly and ran around.

They also showed off their new tie dye shirts. They turned out so cute. We will not be seeing the Bass family until next Spring. Alli has some things going on and they cannot make it out here until next Spring. We have never gone this long. I'm sad thinking about it as I write this post. The kids will all look different and we hope time will fly. We couldn't tell the kids becaues my girls would have been traumatized and dramatic. Many people take seeing their sister and cousins for granted. We have to pack six months into 10 days and it can be exhausting, although we love you and had so much fun. Until we see you again, we will have fond memories.
